  1. How are classes conducted?  All classes at Flamel College are by correspondence only. You submit exams through email, FAX, or regular mail. Return to Top

  2. What is the minimum age for admission? Students must be at least 13 years of age to enroll in courses. Return to Top

  3. Are international students accepted?  International students are welcome at Flamel College, and we currently have students in 26 countries. At the present time, all courses are in English.   4. How do I contact Flamel College? Simply click the "Email!" button located at the bottom of the left column on every page of this website. This will take you to our secured Contact Form. Because of spam and virus attacks, no direct emails to Flamel College will be processed! Return to Top

  5. Can I just enroll in any class or must I first be admitted to Flamel College?   Enrolling in any class in the Catalog automatically enrolls you as a student at Flamel College. Please note that a few classes have prerequisites or require the permission of the instructor. You may also enroll without signing up for a specific class by filling out the Application Form Return to Top

  6. Do I have to buy books or extra supplies for the courses?  All books and supplies are included in the tuition price. You do not have to purchase anything more. We do not issue credits for textbooks you already own. Return to Top

  7. How long does it take to complete a course?  Most individual courses take an average of 6-8 weeks to complete. However, you progress at your own speed. You have a maximum of 6 months to complete a course. Return to Top

  8. What kind of certificates can I earn?   Flamel College offers a variety of certificates to document your coursework and educational efforts. Certificates offered for individual courses are: Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Course Completion, Certificate of Academic Excellence, and Master Certification. These are issued on a per class basis. Diplomas and degrees are issued for successful completion of Study Programs. Return to Top

How do I receive a diploma from Flamel College?   To receive a diploma in the Study Programs at Flamel College, you must meet the following requirements: 1) You must be enrolled in a Study Program. 2) You must satisfactorily complete all the regular courses listed in that Study Program. 3) You must formally apply for a diploma through the Feedback Form so that your credits can be verified.   10. How can I receive a degree from Flamel College?  Flamel College also offers two non-traditional degrees. To receive the Degree in Hermetic Sciences, you must meet the following requirements: 1) You must be enrolled in any of the following Study Programs: Alchemy, Hermetic Philosophy, Kabballistic Studies, Magical Studies, Mathematics, Paranormal Studies, Physics. 2) You must satisfactorily complete all the regular courses listed in that Study Program.  3) You must satisfactorily complete at least seven elective courses numbered "100" or above within the course categories listed in #1 above. Portions of this requirement may also be met by taking or transferring credit from another institution or organization, or participating in a Study Tour. 4) You must write a 5,000-word dissertation on a subject of your choice from the primary area of your studies. 5) Your dissertation must be pre-approved by the faculty. All satisfactory dissertations will be posted in an archives in the Flamel College library. To receive the Degree in Esoteric Arts, you must meet the following requirements: 1) You must be enrolled in any of the following Study Programs: Astrology, Healing Arts, Fine Arts, Meditation & Spirituality, Psychic Arts, Religious Studies, Transpersonal Psychology. 2) You must satisfactorily complete all the regular courses listed in that Study Program.  3) You must satisfactorily complete at least seven elective courses numbered "100" or above within the course categories listed in #1 above. Portions of this requirement may also be met by taking or transferring credit from another institution or organization, or participating in a Study Tour. 4) You must write a 5,000-word dissertation on a subject of your choice from the primary area of your studies. 5) Your dissertation must be pre-approved by the faculty. All satisfactory dissertations will be posted in an archives in the Flamel College library.   11. Are the courses offered through Flamel College accredited?    Flamel College is a non-traditional school offering alternative education in the Esoteric Arts and Hermetic Sciences. Our courses are accredited by appropriate governing bodies and organizations, but are generally not transferrable to conventional universities. We work with a wide variety of organizations to ensure our students receive international acceptance of their coursework and peer recognition of all certificates and diplomas issued by Flamel College.   12. Do I get a "grade" for classes in which I am enrolled?   All assignments, tests, quizzes, and final examinations receive a percentile grade that is recorded by your instructor. You must receive a grade above 70% to pass a course. A few classes grade students only by their participation and completion of the material. In such cases, the grade assigned is satisfactory ("S") or unsatisfactory ("U"). Return to Top

  13. How long does it take to receive certificates?  In some cases, certificates and IDs are emailed as attachments immediately on passing a course. Some certificates and diplomas, however, are sent out to be professionally printed and can take up to 8 weeks to receive. Return to Top

  14. How do I receive copies of my certificates or diplomas?   You may request a copy of any certificate or diploma earned at Flamel College by contacting the Admissions Office. The fee (including shipping) is $10 for certificates and $15 for diplomas.

  16. How do I find out about my instructor?   Short bios and photos of faculty members are listed on the Faculty page, as well as links to their websites and contact information. However many courses do not have assigned instructors and exams are graded by staff or teaching assistants. Return to Top

  17. Can I contact my instructor with my questions?   Yes. Email addresses and other contact information for faculty members is listed on the Faculty page and in your course material. Return to Top

  18. In what ways can I receive credit for coursework at Flamel College?   Credit for classes at Flamel College is earned through correspondence study only. There are specific Home Study Programs in which you can enroll. Occasionally, credit may also be acquired through Online Classes, On-Site Classes, or Study Tours. Return to Top

  19. How do I submit assignments and exams?  For fastest processing, all exam submissions should be sent to "exams(at)comcast.net". Exams submitted to this email address will be logged, copied, and forwarded to instructors, and students will receive their grade and exam report by return email. Exams may also be mailed to Flamel College, P.O. Box 22309, Sacramento, CA 95822-0309 or faxed to (916) 760-0823. Mailed or faxed exams take 4-8 weeks, since they must be copied and forwarded to instructors. Do not submit exams more than once! Resubmitted exams are treated as revisions and will significantly delay processing. You MUST INCLUDE YOUR CURRENT MAILING ADDRESS or the exam will not be processed. Due to new postal regulations, international students must include their current mailing address, as well as a PHONE NUMBER and EMAIL or the exam will not be processed. Return to Top

  20. What if I am having a problem with the course material or instructor?   If you cannot solve any difficulties with the course material after working with the instructor or wish to postpone your work or withdraw from a class, please contact the Administration using the secure Contact Form.   21. How do I pay tuition for individual classes?  Tuition can be paid with all major credit cards, PayPal, Internet check, money orders, and by check. Simply enroll in the class to select your payment option. For your security, all credit card numbers and other personal financial information is purged from our files after 30 days. To find the current tuition fees in international currencies, enter the fee in the Universal Currency Converter (www.xe.net/ucc/ ). Simply use our Smart Shopping Cart to enroll and pay tuition by mail, fax, Internet check, PayPal, or online with a credit card. Return to Top

  22. Is financial aid available?  We currently do not have any financial assistance programs nor do we accept student or government  loans, but our tuition costs are among the lowest for these kinds of classes. Return to Top

  23. Are tuition refunds available for uncompleted classes?  In general, full refunds are given for classes within 30 days of enrollment with the return of class materials in good condition. After 30 days, a 50% refund is sometimes allowed at the discretion of your instructor. However, no tuition refunds are available after 90 days from the date of payment. Students have six months to complete a course or module and can progress at their own speed. After that time, students who have dropped out must pay a re-enrollement fee. Return to Top

  24. What if the class I am looking for is not listed?   If a class you are interested in taking is not listed in the course Catalog, fill out the Feedback Form to let us know. We will let you know if the class is available elsewhere or if it is planning to be offered through Flamel College in the future. Return to Top

  25. Can I get reinstated in a course after six months of not participating? Students have six months to complete a course or module. After that time, they are listed as "incomplete" and no grade is issued for that course. If the student still has the original study materials, they may request Re-Enrollment. Otherwise, students must re-enroll in the latest course at full tuition to continue. They will be sent the current course materials and, in most cases, will be assigned to a new instructor.
